my tumblr sucks
i want to treat it like xanga and write long wordy essays about the events of my life, but i feel out of place doing it here :[ and so theres like nothing on my tumblr.
aww!
This is too cute, a Dad wearing different costumes every day to wave at his son on the school bus on his way to school :)
I want this.
Inappropriate for Tumblr
Inappropriate because people post short non-wordy, photo filled blogs. Making this long wordy photo-less blog inappropriate for tumblr. With that being said, a record of my week:
I GOT SICK: In ways I never experienced before. 1) Tuesday I clumsily fell, scratched my left knee and have an ugly bruise. This is all very very typical of me, except now its monday, the bruise is still here, its non-blanching, and numb. Its still numb after a week! 2) Be cautious getting on a plane with a runny nose, you may get ear congestion for days! One the last plane ride, the ear congestion got so bad my tongue became numb. Eventually my ear popped a little, but that was really scary.
BOSTON: The little I got to enjoy was beautiful! I’ve fallen in love with red-brick buildings and trees on the sidewalk. Italian food and seafood is amazing, especially lobster ravioli. Had New England clam chowder in New England and cannoli’s from Mike’s Pastry are delicious! Note to self: Make dinner reservations - restaurants can seat like 20-45 people only. A Dunkin Donuts at every corner, enough said! So much history in this city, I wish I remembered more from history class. Weather changes constantly, from hot to cold to hot to cold, but weather was great! Eventually figured out how to use the T, I’m so envious for great public transportation!
ONS CONGRESS: Although I missed a few sessions due to being sick, I liked the conference. I liked the flow of ideas shared between nurses, networking for a bigger cause, and free highlighters, hand sanitizers and lotion samples from vendors. I attended session about using social media, met the presenters and talked about blogging for ONS RE:Connect (ONS= Oncology Nursing Society). So I now have the opportunity to be one of the (many) bloggers on ONS Connect. I’ll definitely be praying for this before I make a decision. Oh yes, also, the keynote speaker, didn’t need to be the keynote speaker.
I READ A BOOK: First one since I graduated college. It’s called Forgotten God by Francis Chan. Excellent read. The book taught me the role of the Holy Spirit and not to quench Him. It opened my heart to spiritual gifts and affirmed my preexisting view on orderly worship and discernment. It also emphasized fruits of the Spirit and encouraged me to continue to take my cross Daily. Great book- I think I enjoy reading now!
THIS WEEK: Is my birthday week, and I am lying in bed coughing up death. I got my co-worker sick in Boston and am pretty sure for my birthday I’m going to give Jack this sickness. If you know me, you know that I love my bday :) So I have to share! Jack got me a kindle for my bday so we can read together. I’m excited, I love reading off the kindle.

Thought
Why does “single mom” cause people to feel sorrow for the parent? Why not “single dad”? I would think it’s just as hard- no I think it’s harder to be a single dad rather than a single mom.
Why does the media exploit single moms to strike emotions? Movies, charity commercials, etc.
I’m watching Star Trek on Netflix. And I realized that the idea of Jesus being fully man and fully God is similar to Spock being fully Vulcan and fully Human. (Not sure how Biblically sound the link is, but I thought it was interesting)
